UMI Entry requirements: what you need to know before you apply

Uganda Management Institute is education institution in Africa and here we have discussed about Uganda Management Institute Entry requirements (Eligibility) for undergraduate courses, PhD courses, postgraduate courses, Masters and research degrees. All our courses have course-specific entry requirements. Before you apply, check that you meet the entry requirements for the course you are interested in.

Uganda Management Institute Entry requirements (Eligibility) 2023/2024 academic year!

  1. MASTERS’ BY RESEARCH
    The MMS is Research based, building on the coursework at the Postgraduate Diploma level obtained at UMI. Applicants must have passed the Postgraduate Diploma with at least a Second class.
  2. TAUGHT AND CONTINUED RESEARCH BASED MASTERS PROGRAMMES (WEEKEND)
    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DIRECT MASTERS: Applicants shall be Holders of a Bachelor’s degree from an Institution of higher learning recognized by NCHE OR a Professional Chartered qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, and working experience of at least one year.
  3. MASTERS’ WITH PRE-ENTRY EXAMINATION
    1. An honours Bachelor’s Degree from an Institution of higher learning recognized by NCHE or a Professional qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized professional body
    2. Working experience of one year
    3. Mandatory passing of a GMAT.
    4. Shortlisted applicants will receive invitation letters for the GMAT via their email addresses.
  4. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES
    1. A good degree from a recognised University, OR a Professional Chartered qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, and working experience of at least one year.
    2. Participants who complete the Postgraduate Diploma courses with at least a second class can proceed to do research for the Master’s Degree. In effect the Postgraduate Diploma constitutes the first year of the Master’s Degree programme.
  5. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMAS:
    1. Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least One Principal Pass and Two Subsidiaries AND Uganda Certificate of Education
    2. (UCE) with at least 5 Passes or a two-year certificate course from a recognised Institute.
